I've been practicing for 12 years.
I started yoga due to a few physical challenges. It has been an addiction ever since. Yoga has changed my whole perspective of life. It is the time when I feel absolutely whole and happy. I love to experience my body transition from one shape to another. The feeling of getting stronger not only physically, but mentally and especially emotionally is charging.
Downward Facing Dog. It is activating internally and rejuvenating externally. It can be so much work and it can be a reset.
I have so many challenging poses. When I first started teacher training, I looked at all my peers and thought "Oh My God, what am I doing here?!?!?" There were so many poses that were so challenging for me, but many would get in to them with ease. I finally realized that the body needs strengthening and the mind needs conditioning. No attachments - No judgements towards yourself or anyone else. It has been a pleasure to see myself slowly eliminating fear and being able to try!!!
My Favorite book is "One Simple Thing" by Eddie Stern. It makes the theory of Yoga so much easier to understand.
